In the sixth year of the Kan’ei era (1629), at the beginning of the Edo period, a samurai was hired to settle a grievance in the castle of Suruga. Appearing in a tournament which contraventioned all of the existing dueling laws to allow the use of real swords, the blind one-armed lame samurai starts a battle which brings together for the last time two mighty swordsmen whose bloody intertwined past is as beautiful and as gruesome as the scarred wounds that adorn their bodies and souls.

Based on a seinen manga by Yamaguchi Takayuki

A surprisingly good series, the story has a nice flow and the character development is well made; episodes tend to progress slowly, yet are done in a tasteful matter so it doesn’t get boring. The setting and the sword fights are also very much to my taste, not to mention it’s a tale of revenge and I’m a total sucker for those.
Just a small warning, the series does not end, something like the Berserk anime but the manga is still getting published…

Hi,
This is freaking awesome. Why doesn't manga do more anime like this ?
Thanks very much.

as you can see from the info this is dual audio (russian and japanese) and with dual subs (russian and english), whatever player you use there should be audio where you change to japanese and the same with the subtitles.

Hey Opium fields! Love your site. Can you recommend any anime series vaguely like this? This was one of the best things i've watched recently. Cheers, and keep up the fine work.

I just loved what they did! I think they are the best in this art and it'd be nice if you can add more illustrations about this story! I've been drawing some sketches related and I will post them at my own blog. 23jj
